Review of on-site post emergency equipment (such as fi re alarm panels, weather radio and any other emergency equipment) is often a tedious but required task.

No matter how much training is provided to security officers during emergency training, emergencies usually occur infrequently. As a result, many security officers will

lack the experience of participating in actual emergency situations.

This lack of experience may mean that a security officer is not fully familiar with the proper procedures and instructions for using emergency equipment, resetting alarms, etc. The diligent security officer who checks emergency equipment daily will become very familiar with its use and be better prepared during an actual emergency.
